Thank you for your love, presence and every bit of magic you brought!

The gathering is done for 2026. The village isn’t.

2027 dates are coming. Until then, the village is moving online — and we’d love you in it.

We see you

If you, like us, believe that raising our kids differently is how we create the future we’re all longing for… that by bringing the next generation up consciously, we can start the ripples of positive change this planet needs… this gathering was made with you in mind.

We’re calling together the families, parents, and individuals who really feel this, as deeply as we do. Because we see you.

We feel the huge effort that goes into parenting in such a radical and different way. We know that this route is harder than staying on the beaten track. KIND Family Gathering is where we come together, to support each other in this, and to reaffirm why we do it in the first place.

This is where we collectively gather to break out of the isolated nuclear family bubble that so many of us are in. Come and walk beside others who share this vision, families who walk the same path as you – to breathe, to feel, to learn.

For the little ones

The childhood we all dreamt of, made a reality for our children (and for our inner children too!)

  • Totally immersed in nature, making new friends
  • Running freely from one expansive experience to the next
  • Learning circus skills, bushcraft, and much more
  • Hands deep in earth, happy faces covered in mud
  • Hearts and minds enriched daily
Children drawing together at a table, seen from above
Three children pulling faces for the camera in the woods
Something softened in all of us. Our children played freely, and somehow our own inner children too.

For the big ones

Parents: here you’ll find space to relax, connect with families who understand, and rediscover ways of being and raising children that can feel lost in today’s world.

No kids of your own?

To the child-free village members: we deeply value you, and want you with us.

Children flourish growing up surrounded by diverse, caring adults. Many of our core team members and community don’t have children – they’re drawn to co-creating a different way of living, together.

Whether you come to support, or simply enjoy the programme, be in nature and community, your presence shapes the magic. If you’re interested in getting involved as a volunteer or crew, there are many ways to join.

I felt supported by an entire community at the festival, and I helped support an entire community. Our kids were free and always an arm’s length from love.

What this is… and what it isn’t

It is

  • The village that in our hearts we all know is possible.
  • A co-creation: multi-generational and all inclusive, a space where we raise the children of the future together as a community.
  • For families and humans of all backgrounds, genders and configurations. As a small gathering we’ll do our best to support your needs – tell us as much as you can when you apply.
  • Designed for spending quality time together. KIND Angels can be booked for limited babysitting when you need time out; under-6s need a responsible adult with them during activities.

It isn’t

  • Not a summer camp or daycare where you drop off the kids. Parents and caregivers stay present with their children at all times.
  • Not a party festival. The daily schedule ends by 10/11pm with silent hours after, so we all sleep peacefully under the stars.
  • Not a festival for getting messy. Enjoy the occasional glass at the wine bar, or other calming plant allies, in mindful moderation.

Beyond the nuclear family

Expanded, blended families and family support are welcome. Whether you’re a solo parent or a tight little unit, we strongly encourage you to invite along a friend, family member, or supportive caregiver.

This way you can fully participate in the sessions you need, rest and receive, while your children stay supported. It’s also a beautiful way for that special friend, auntie, grandfather, or godparent to make new memories with your kids. Many single parents each year have wished they had done this!

Getting there

If you’re flying, Porto airport is your best option. The closest town is Termas de São Pedro do Sul, around 20 minutes by car from the site.

We recommend coming by car: the Magic Mountains hide natural treasures that are far easier to reach with your own transport, and the site is remote, so public transport isn’t easy, especially when leaving.

By car

Try recordgo for car rental. We share a carpooling link with gatherers on ticket purchase.

By train

The closest main station is Aveiro, from which you can get a bus, taxi or Uber.

By bus

Buses run from Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro and many other cities to São Pedro do Sul (Termas), then shuttle or taxi. Viseu, the closest main city, has more options, then Uber or taxi to the site.

Who we are

We’re Georgiana and George, and our daughter Rise. We couldn’t find the kind of festival we actually wanted to go to as a family – so we created one.

At KIND Family Gathering we’re a tiny team with a big dream working behind the scenes. We are learning as we go, and deeply committed to keeping the gathering intimate, authentic, and beautifully child-centred.

We can’t wait to welcome you back.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this for?

This gathering was made for people who feel it deeply that raising children consciously is how we create the future we’re longing for.

Parents doing it differently. Families breaking patterns. And people without children who are drawn to community, conscious living, and being part of something bigger.

KIND is child-first. But the village needs all of us. And we all need village. From babies to grandparents, everyone has a place here.

Why two cycles in 2026?

We wanted to welcome more of you into the magic while keeping the intimacy that makes KIND what it is, so we opened the village gates for longer: Cycle I, 25–29 July, and Cycle II, 1–5 August. Each cycle was a full gathering – same depth, same rhythm, same magic.

Two sets of dates meant more flexibility, one epic programme with many facilitators joining both cycles, tickets capped at 400 people per cycle, and the option to stay for both and sink in deeper. Between cycles, 30 July – 1 August, the site reset: no programme, but food, facilities and good vibes.

Can I join for fewer days?

We don’t offer partial or day tickets. Each cycle is designed as a complete experience – it takes time to arrive, settle, and find your rhythm. That’s where the magic happens.

If you need to arrive late or leave early, that’s okay, but tickets are for the full cycle. This also helps us with logistics and keeps the village settled and held throughout.

What were the dates and location for 2026?

Festival Cycle 1: 25–29 July 2026. Pause / reset: 30–31 July. Festival Cycle 2: 1–5 August 2026. Retiro da Fraguinha, São Pedro do Sul, Magic Mountains, North Portugal.

Where will we sleep?

Camping is included with your ticket – bring your tent and you’re sorted. Bringing an RV or van? You book your spot separately through our glamping partner.

Fancy more comfort? Standard glamping gives you mattresses, power, lamp and carpet – just bring your bedding. Comfort glamping gives you proper beds with bedding, pillows, blankets, bedside table, clothes rack, ventilator and cooling box – basically just arrive with your bag. Limited spots, so book early if it’s calling.

What about food?

Food is available on site, with flexibility for different needs and budgets: mostly plant-based options, optional egg and meat add-ons, family-style dishes to share, snack bars, a cacao bar and drinks.

You’re welcome to bring some of your own food if that supports your family – but community kitchens, open fires, camping gas and personal cooking equipment are not allowed due to wildfire risk.

Is there childcare at the festival?

KIND is a child-first, family-centred gathering – not a daycare or summer camp. Parents and caregivers are responsible for their children at all times. Children under 6 must always have a dedicated adult nearby during activities.

We do have KIND Angels and extra support hands to help where possible – but this is about shared responsibility, presence, and community, not outsourcing care.

I’m a single parent – how can I get the most from the festival?

We’ve seen single parents thrive at KIND, especially when they come with support: tag-in / tag-out care with a friend, family member or care helper; natural tribe care, as relationships form quickly over several days; and KIND Angels, who may support for short periods when possible.

We strongly recommend coming with an extra adult if you can – many parents told us they wished they had.

I’m not a parent – can I attend?

Yes! Non-parents are definitely welcome. If you’re expecting, curious about conscious parenting, or simply love nature, children and family spaces, your presence is so valued. This is about building village – across generations and life stages.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes, there is a designated area with Wi-Fi for those who need to work or take calls.

What language are the workshops held in?

Most sessions are held in English. We’re an international community, and many space holders and gatherers are multilingual. Translation support often happens naturally within the group.

Can I bring my pet?

Unfortunately no. We absolutely love dogs, but the venue is home to animals already, and with so many little ones running around, it’s the simplest way to keep the space calm and safe for everyone – kids, animals, and your pet too.

Is parking available? How do payments work on site?

Parking is included with your ticket. On site, please bring cash, card or MB Way.

Can I apply as a facilitator or space holder?

We love that so many of you want to offer your gifts to the village. We’re a tiny team, and our inbox gets very full, very fast – if you’ve written about offering a workshop and haven’t heard back, it’s not personal.

If this is something you’d love to do in the future, come as a family first. Let us get to know you. That’s how most of our collaborations begin 🧡
